Palm Beach County Value Adjustment Board hiring opportunity
The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, as Clerk to the Value Adjustment Board (VAB), seeks special magistrates for its 2025 hearings (October 2025 – April 2026), to be held in person, telephonically, or by other electronic means. Special magistrates conduct hearings and prepare Recommended Decisions for consideration by the VAB.
Special magistrates hearing real estate valuation cases must be state licensed real estate appraisers. Special magistrates hearing tangible personal property cases must be designated members of a nationally recognized appraisers’ organization. Special magistrates hearing cases related to exemptions, classifications, portability, and other legal matters must be members of The Florida Bar in good standing with experience in ad valorem taxation.
All special magistrate applicants must have at least three years’ experience and must have completed training and passed the examination provided by the Florida Department of Revenue. Please see Section 194.03 5, Florida Statutes and Rule 12D-9.010, F.A.C.
