Proposed amendments to Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.040 (Computation of Time)
The Criminal Court Steering Committee invites all interested persons to comment on the proposed amendments below, which delete the specific references to rule 3.132(a) and 3.132(c) in rule 3.040. Comments must be received by the committee in either electronic format or hard copy on or before May 19, 2025. File your comments electronically to Staff Liaison Bart Schneider at [email protected] in the format of a Word document. If you cannot file electronically, mail a hard copy of the comment to Criminal Court Steering Committee, c/o Bart Schneider, General Counsel’s Office, Office of the State Courts Administrator, 500 S. Duval Street, Tallahassee 32399-1900.
RULE 3.040. Computation of Time.
Computation of time shall beis governed by Florida Rule of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.514, except for the periods of time of less than 7 days contained in rules 3.130, 3.132(a) and (c), and 3.133(a).
