Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section creates safety task force in wake of condo collapse
In response to the Champlain Towers collapse in Surfside, the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section has created a safety task force as a resource for state leaders.
The Condominium Law and Policy on Life Safety Task Force is available to assist the governor and legislators as they review all aspects of Florida condominium law, development, association operations, and maintenance to determine and recommend if legislative and or regulatory changes should be enacted to minimize the likelihood of a similar tragedy. The task force will be chaired by University of Miami Professor Bill Sklar, a former chair of the RPPTL’s Condominium and Planned Development Committee.
“The Section sends its thoughts and prayers to the individuals and families affected by the Surfside condominium building collapse,” said RPPTL Chair Bob Swaine.
