Scam Alert: Fake emails claim to be from the Bar’s Executive Director
Another day, another email scam.
Dozens of Bar members are reporting receiving fraudulent emails from spoofed email accounts designed to look like they are from Florida Bar Executive Director Joshua Doyle.
The content of the email ranges from interview requests to “urgent” client matters, and subjects have included, “Client Req: BN/109015” and “The Florida Bar Joshua Doyle.” Examples of fake email addresses being used include “[email protected]” and “[email protected].” All the emails solicit the reader to open an attachment with malicious content.
If you receive such an email, the best course of action is to immediately delete the email. Never open attachments from unknown senders.
Lawyers are always advised to keep their guards up as scammers become increasingly clever in their quest to do harm.
