Sean McCormack takes leadership of the Workers’ Comp Section

Sean McCormack, a board-certified workers’ compensation attorney with Colling Gilbert Wright in Orlando, has been named chair of The Florida Bar’s Workers’ Compensation Section (WCS) for the 2025–26 term.
McCormack is launching his tenure under the theme “Empowering Our Membership,” with plans to expand mentorship, wellness initiatives, and professional development across the state.
McCormack is asking members what they can do for the WCS by contributing their time and support. McCormack introduced free health and wellness CLEs and plans to implement a podcast, which will highlight and discuss WCS-related events, interviews, and areas of interest. He will continue the prior chair’s membership efforts that focus on mentorship and recruitment at Florida law schools.
Other officers for the year include Chair-elect Tracey Hyde, Treasurer Richard Manno, Secretary W. Rogers Turner, and Immediate Past Chair Karen Cullen.
He served as editor of the NEWS & 440 Report from 2020 to 2023, an online publication of the WCS. He is a member of the Wieland Inns of Court. He has been involved in the Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund as board of director vice president and president of the Orlando division. The charity provides college scholarships to dependents of injured workers or those connected to the administration of the workers’ compensation system. He received his undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University and his JD from Barry University.
McCormack received the Orange County Legal Aid Society Board of Trustees Elizabeth Susan Khoury Guardian Ad litem Award of Excellence in 2024 and has served as a GAL for over 20 years. He received the 2025 Richard Sadow Award at the Friends of 440 Cards for a Cause fundraiser. This award recognizes Sean’s work and dedication to the Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund. McCormack is an elite triathlete and swam division one at Florida Atlantic University. He is married to his wife, Ryan McCormack, and has three children.
