Six Circuit JNC seeks to fill a circuit court vacancy

Sixth Circuit sealThe Sixth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission announces a circuit vacancy due to the resignation and retirement of Circuit Court Judge George Jirotka.

The Sixth Circuit JNC seeks applications for nominations from all persons who meet the eligibility requirements set forth in the Florida Constitution.

Applicants must be able to fulfill the constitutional qualifications before assuming the office of circuit court judge, which requires the person to be a member in good standing of The Florida Bar for the preceding five years, a resident of Pinellas County or Pasco County as of the date the governor makes the appointment, and a registered voter in Florida.

Application forms for the judgeship may be downloaded from the governor’s website, https://www.flgov.com/eog/info/judicial/applications. Applications can also be obtained from JNC Chair Adam Ross, whose address and electronic mail address appear below.

As of July 1, 2020, there have been changes made to the Application for Judicial vacancies. Applicants must complete the current Application for Judicial vacancies. The original completed Application with attachments, one copy of the original with attachments that has been redacted as required by the Florida Rules of Judicial Administration, a flash drive with both original and redacted Applications with attachments, and a recent photo must be physically delivered to Adam Ross, Chair, Sixth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, at the address below no later than 1 p.m. on Friday, April 25. Incomplete applications and applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
