Six names sent to the governor to fill a Second Circuit judicial vacancy
The Second Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission is sending the names of six candidates to Gov. Ron DeSantis to fill a judicial vacancy created by the passing of Judge Dawn Caloca-Johnson.
After interviews and deliberations, the nominees are listed in alphabetical order as follows:
- Michael Beato
- Chris Bufano
- Ian Garland
- Jeremiah Hawkes
- Stefanie Newlin
- Carlos Rey
The members of the JNC include Chair William N. Spicola, David Arthmann, Denise Harle, Carly A. Hermanson, Nick Meros, Tim Moore, Amanda Neff, Kristina R. Osterhaus, and Jason Vail.
