Six state attorney races decided on November ballot
Four incumbent state attorneys were reelected in the November 3 general election while two new state attorneys were elected to open posts in the Ninth and 17th circuits.
In the Ninth Circuit, Democrat Monique Worrell defeated Republican Jose Torroella 65.73% to 34.27%. She will replace retiring State Attorney Aramis Ayala.
In the 17th Circuit, Democrat Harold Fernandez Pryor outpolled Republican Gregg Rossman 63.52% to 36.48% to replace retiring State Attorney Michael Satz.
In the Seventh Circuit, incumbent Republican R.J. Larizza defeated Don Dempsey, with no party affiliation, 65.26% to 34.74%.
In the 12th Circuit, incumbent Republican Ed Brodsky defeated Republican Betsy Young 58.3% to 41.7%.
In the 13th Circuit, incumbent Democrat Andrew Warren defeated Republican Mike Perotti 53.36% to 46.64%.
And in the 16th Circuit, incumbent Republican Dennis W. Ward defeated Democrat Donald C. Barrett 58.17% to 41.83%.
In the only public defender contest on the ballot, in the 17th Circuit Democrat Gordon Weekes got 100% of the vote against a write-in candidate to succeed retiring Public Defender Howard Finkelstein.
