Solo and Small Firm Section invites lawyers to connect over coffee in new virtual networking series
The March 13 topic is 'Hiring and Team Building: How to Hire, Train, and Overcome the Biggest Challenges in Finding the Right Staff'
Solos and small firm practitioners are invited to “BYOC” — bring your own coffee — and join the Solo & Small Firm Section for its new “Brewed for Success: Virtual Coffee Chats for Solo & Small Firm Attorneys” networking series on the second Thursdays of each month from 8 to 8:45 a.m. on Zoom.
The March 13 topic is “Hiring and Team Building: How to Hire, Train, and Overcome the Biggest Challenges in Finding the Right Staff.” Details and the Zoom link are on the section’s website.
Solo & Small Firm Section Executive Council members Liz McCausland and Megan Murray came up with the coffee chats idea to boost interaction among solos and those who practice in small firms.

“Most Florida Bar members practice solo or in small-size firms and may not have regular opportunities to exchange ideas with colleagues,” said McCausland, a member of The Florida Bar’s Mentoring New Lawyers Committee. “We think it’s important to foster relationship-building with other lawyers to ask questions, share knowledge, and get support for the challenges of running small businesses.”
The coffee chats are open to all lawyers, no matter what firm size. The group will tackle a range of subjects in business and practice management, hiring and team building, finances and compensation, work-life balance and well-being, marketing and client acquisition, and time and efficiency hacks.
