Sarasota lawyer strikes gold at National Senior Games
SARASOTA LAWYER RUDY VAZMINA, on top of the podium, won four gold swimming medals and a silver in June at the 2019 National Senior Games in Albuquerque. The 69-year-old won the 50-yard breaststroke; the 100-yard breaststroke; the 200-yard breaststroke; and the 50-yard butterfly. He took silver in the 100-yard individual medley. Vazmina has now captured 20 medals in his National Senior Games career, including seven golds and a silver in the 2017 games. Vazmina is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association’s Council for Diversity & Inclusion and the voluntary bar’s Health and Wellness Subcommittee. “Competition is a prime driver for me,” Vazmina told the Sarasota Observer. “Events like this never get old. You feel that adrenaline rush. It allows me to challenge myself.”
