Tallahassee Bar Association and Florida Government Bar Association honors Imhof and Smith
At a recent joint Holiday and Judicial Reception, the Tallahassee Bar Association presented its Lifetime Professionalism Award to Patrick “Booter” Imhof, and the Florida Government Bar Association presented its Government Attorney of the Year Award to the late Chesterfield Smith, Jr. Before his death on September 25, 2021, Smith served as associate deputy attorney general. Attorney General Ashley Moody, in remarks delivered by her chief of staff, called Smith “a lawyer’s lawyer, someone who I trusted for his sage advice, someone who always had a quick wit and knew what needed to be said and done… His example and memory will inspire us to move forward together serving the interest of our great state.” Smith’s wife, Patricia, accepted the award. Sellers presented the award to Imhoff on behalf of the TBA. Imhof is a former Florida Bar general counsel who spent decades as a staff director in both chambers of the Florida Legislature.
