Tampa’s Murray Silverstein takes office as president of The Florida Bar Foundation

Murray Silverstein, partner in the newly-opened Tampa office of national firm Stinson LLP, took office July 1 as president of The Florida Bar Foundation.
Silverstein, whose practice areas include unfair competition, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, contract claims, intellectual property, and health-care litigation, earned his bachelor’s and law degrees at Stetson University.
Silverstein served for eight years on The Florida Bar Board of Governors. He also served on several Bar committees and chaired The Florida Bar Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration Committee. Silverstein also served and led committees of the Florida Courts Technology Commission, which advised the Florida Supreme Court on technology issues.
In 2006, he received the Wm. Reece Smith, Jr., Public Service Award. He was honored with The Florida Bar President’s Award of Merit in 2010 and The Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award in 2011. He was a board member and past president of Community Law Program in St. Petersburg.
Silverstein is a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow and member of its Silver Lifetime Giving Society.
