Contested seats for The Florida Bar’s Board of Governors in the 11th and Out-of-State circuits and two races for the Young Lawyers Division board in the 11th and 13th circuits are on the ballot

Elections are UnderwayVoting is underway for contested seats for The Florida Bar’s Board of Governors in the 11th and Out-of-State circuits and two races for the Young Lawyers Division board in the 11th and 13th circuits.

Members in the circuits with contested races may vote by accessing the MyFloridaBar Member Portal on The Florida Bar’s website. Voted ballots must be received prior to 11:59 p.m. EST, March 21. If you requested a mail ballot, it was mailed March 1.

The contested Florida Bar Board of Governors’ races include:

  • In the 11th Circuit, Seat 8, Richard Cole and Sabrina Vora-Puglisi, both of Miami, filed to run for a newly apportioned seat.
  • In the Out-of-State Circuit, Seat 3, incumbent Eric Meeks of Cincinnati, OH, is being challenged by G.C. Murray II, of Washington, D.C.

Karl Klein and Benjamin Mordes, both of Miami, have also filed to run in a special election for an open 11th Circuit seat on the Board of Governors to fill the vacancy created by the election of 11th Circuit, Seat 1, board member Roland Sanchez-Medina, Jr., as president-elect designate. The office commences on June 23 and continues for a term ending June 21, 2024, or until a successor is elected and qualifies.

Four candidates are running in two contested races for the Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors.

Those contested races include:

  • In the 11th Circuit, Seat 1, Tiffany-Ashley Disney is running against Jeremy A. McLymont.
  • In the 13th Circuit, Seat 2, Brittany Dix is running against Amanda Keller.
