The Standing Committee on Professionalism named Theresa Radwan recipient of the Law Faculty/Administrator Award.

Radwan is the interim dean at Stetson University College of Law.

The purpose of the award is to recognize a faculty member or administrator of one of Florida’s accredited law schools who, through teaching, scholarship, and service to the profession, best supports or exemplifies the mission of the Standing Committee on Professionalism: “To promote the fundamental ideals and values of professionalism within the legal system and to instill those ideals of character, competence, civility, and commitment in all those persons serving and seeking to serve therein.”

For the past 22 years, Dean Radwan has held several roles at Stetson Law, including her role as a professor, associate dean of academics, senior associate dean of academics, associate dean for administration and business affairs, transitional business administrator, and currently as interim dean.

Dean Radwan won acclaim as a leader of the university’s team in overseeing the pandemic response, while also teaching classes and writing scholarly works. She was one of only six in all of Florida’s higher education system to be honored with the “She Stepped Up Award: Recognizing Extraordinary Leadership During Covid-19,” presented by the American Council on Education (ACE) Women’s Network—Florida.

Colleagues note that, “In all these capacities she has acted with the highest level of integrity and professionalism. She exudes professionalism in everything she does, from how she writes an email, to how she introduces speakers, how she interacts with faculty, staff, and students, how she teaches classes and how she performs her current role as interim dean of the law school.”

Dean Radwan was recently a guest on the center’s podcast, “Never Contemplated,” which can be downloaded free and on-demand for CLE credit on any major podcast platform. The William M. Hoeveler Judicial Professionalism Award, and other professionalism awards, will be presented at Annual Judicial Luncheon June 22 at The Boca Raton  during The Florida Bar Annual Convention.
