Who’s Bringing the Beer defeated top-seeded Well Hung Jury 14 to 12 to win the 2025 Broward County Young Lawyers Football League championship, when Beer defensive back Matt Lipari knocked away a last-second two-point conversion attempt.

League Commissioner Neal Dupree said it was Beer’s 10th league title and 15th championship appearance. The Broward County Young Lawyer’s Football League is comprised of lawyers and law students from Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties and has been in existence since the mid-1970’s.

"We play a 10-game regular season schedule followed by a single elimination tournament," Dupree said. "Our league draws students from the University of Miami, Florida International, St. Thomas and Nova law schools and has over 150 participants."

Dupree said bringing in younger players from Nova, St. Thomas, and Miami are essential not only to sustain the league, but to create meaningful professional connections. He said law students and newer lawyers gain informal mentorship, build relationships with established practitioners, and learn teamwork, leadership, and resilience in a competitive yet collegial setting.

“They’re not just playing football — they’re learning how to communicate under pressure, resolve conflicts, and work toward a common goal,” Dupree said. “Those are the same skills they’ll rely on in courtrooms, boardrooms, and law offices, and the friendships they form here often become the foundation of their professional networks.”
