‘Tri4Good’ leverages triathlons for legal aid and the arts
Miami lawyer, philanthropist, and Renaissance man Anthony S. Hearn is encouraging Bar members to support “Tri4Good,” a foundation that leverages his dedication to triathlons for community service. Here, Hearn, right, thanks Robert Zarco of Zarco, Einhorn, Salkowski & Brito for his support. “Zarco’s contribution to this cause reflects upon his appreciation of the arts and the needs of the less fortunate in our community,” Hearn said. The founder and president of Anthony S. Hearn, P.A., and Metis Healthcare Consulting, Hearn is a lifelong athlete and soccer fanatic who switched to triathlon following an ACL injury. Tri4Good raises awareness, financial support, and pro bono hours for Dade Legal Aid and Arts 4 Learning, organizations that are dedicated to fulfilling the legal needs of underprivileged children and enhancing their art education, respectively. In a recent podcast, “The Why of Art, Athletics and Community,” Hearn told host Caroline Gardner that he studied chemistry and fine art as an undergraduate and built his own cameras to pursue art photography. Hearn said he joined the board of Arts 4 Learning because he believes art education promotes a more cohesive society. “To me, the arts are just another language to find commonality, to find a shared cultural reference point,” he said. Athletics and the arts are considered separate pursuits, “but if you go far enough back in time, there was a serious commitment in Western culture to marrying mind and body and spirit,” he said. “I studied chemistry, I studied the arts, I practice law, I compete in triathlon with the overall objective that I remain interested and engaged…in a lush environment.”
