Voting is underway in the 2026 Bar elections

This election cycle features a contested race for Bar president-elect, contested seats on The Florida Bar Board of Governors in the First and 11th circuits, and contested races for the Young Lawyers Division board in the Second, Fourth, and 18th circuits.

Paige Greenlee and Jeff RynorVoting is underway in The Florida Bar’s 2026 election cycle, which features a contested race for Bar president-elect, contested seats on The Florida Bar Board of Governors in the First and 11th circuits, and contested races for the Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors in the Second, Fourth, and 18th circuits.

Board of Governors members Paige Greenlee of Tampa and Jeff Rynor of Miami Beach have qualified as candidates for Florida Bar president-elect. Their platform statements may be found here.

The winner will be sworn in as president-elect at the Annual Florida Bar Convention in June — when current President-elect Michael Fox Orr becomes Bar president — and will assume office as president at the 2027 convention.

Members may vote through the MyFloridaBar Member Portal on The Florida Bar’s website. Ballots must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST on March 15.

Board of Governors races

The contested Board of Governors races include:

  • First Circuit, Seat 1: Randle D. Thompson vs. Adam J.T.W. White
  • 11th Circuit, Seat 5: Robert J. Becerra, Benjamin Mordes, Michael Shelley, and Vanessa Vasquez de Lara

(If a runoff is required, it will be held in April.)

Young Lawyers Division races

This year’s YLD Board of Governors balloting include:

  • Second Circuit, Seat 2: Shannon Morris vs. Tommy Kelly
  • Fourth Circuit, Seat 2: Jennifer E. Braunstein vs. Katherine Weaver
  • 18th Circuit, Seat 2: Frankie Turla-Vitiello vs. Alyssa Dimmick Velazquez
