Winners of 2024 Florida Bar Journal Excellence in Writing Award announced
The Florida Bar Journal & News Editorial Board selected Jed Kurzban, Lauren Gallagher, Taylor Hill, and Camila Torres Jaramillo as the recipients of the 2024 Florida Bar Journal Excellence in Writing Award for their article, “Neither Goose Nor Gander: Why Tort Reform Fails All,” which was originally published in the September/October 2024 issue.
The article discusses legal concepts associated with tort law and the civil justice system in Florida, and how it relates to medical malpractice issues.
Taylor Hill is an associate attorney at Kurzban Kurzban Tetzeli and Pratt in Miami. Her practice focuses on medical malpractice and personal injury litigation. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law.
Lauren Gallagher is a medical malpractice and personal injury attorney at Kurzban Kurzban Tetzeli and Pratt in Miami. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law.
Jed Kurzban is managing partner of Kurzban Kurzban Tetzeli and Pratt in Miami. He has tried medical malpractice, personal injury, and products liability cases for over 30 years.
Camila Torres Jaramillo was a law student and clerk at Kurzban Kurzban Tetzeli and Pratt. She is now an associate attorney at Rabin & Lopez in Miami.
Each year, members of the Journal Editorial Board select an outstanding submission for contention in the writing award. The winner is chosen based on substance, style, and quality of writing and research.
