YLD Affiliate Outreach Conference slated for February 3-4 in Daytona Beach
The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division is hard at work planning its biggest event of the year, the Affiliate Outreach Conference. The premier conference for young lawyer leaders practicing throughout the state of Florida provides the opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and get the most up-to-date information about young lawyer issues and resources.
The 2023 conference takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona Beach on February 3-4. The deadline to register for this year’s event is January 25. Registration can be made using the form here. Hotel reservations can be made here.
The conference will open on February 3 with affiliate grant programs. The YLD plans to award money to affiliate young lawyer organizations in its annual competition for project grant funding. Typical awards range between $500 and $1,500, though projects have received as much as $5,000 in the past. In order to be eligible for an award, an affiliate must present its grant at the conference on Friday, February 3.
Each affiliate seeking grant funds also must designate at least one representative, who is required to register for and attend the morning programming session and the lunch roundtable discussion on Saturday, February 4. The YLD is providing CLE credits for the Saturday programming session. An affiliate that applies for an AOC grant but does not have at least one affiliate representative register and attend the required AOC events will be deemed ineligible to receive grant funding.
The deadline for grant applications is January 20 and applications can be submitted using the form here.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Driven to Success.” Friday night’s festivities feature a scavenger hunt that spans the entire length of the Hard Rock Hotel with a start and finish line. A Friday night fun activity will follow to provide greater networking opportunities for the YLD.
