Young Lawyers Division retools its ‘Practicing With Professionalism’ series
The Young Lawyers Division, always a champion of using technology to enhance the practice of law, is revamping its digital “Practicing With Professionalism” series.
YLD President Santo DiGangi was quick to credit YLD members Lara Bach and Ashlea Edwards for overseeing the redesign, which is expected to launch before the end of the Bar year this summer.
“PWP is one of the first interactions new lawyers have with the Bar and I couldn’t be prouder of this important introduction to our profession,” DiGangi said.
In addition to regular features, such as a panel discussion on professionalism and ethics; an introduction to social media and the law; and an overview of Florida Bar disciplinary procedures, the PWP program has some new offerings, DiGangi said.
There will be a new Supreme Court panel discussion on ethics featuring Chief Justice Charles Canady, and a video tutorial on implicit bias featuring William C. Snowden, New Orleans Director of the Vera Institute of Justice.
Other topics include an overview of Florida Lawyers Assistance, which helps lawyers recover from substance use disorders and other mental health issues, and an overview of LegalFuel, the practice management tool for Florida lawyers.
