17th Circuit Virtual Jury Trial Initiative
On May 11, Chief Judge Jack Tuter, with other judges from the 17th Judicial Circuit, approximately 25 lawyers from the American Board of Trial Advocates and trial attorneys from Broward and Palm Beach counties and in conjunction with the Court Information Systems Office, participated in what may be the first experimental virtual jury trial in the United States. The 17th Circuit Virtual Jury Trial Initiative video is posted. This initiative provided major insights into how such a virtual remote-juror trial can be taken to the next level. Planning for stage two is already underway.
