Bike Challenge Benefits Dade Legal Aid
More than 50 lawyers, law students and judges along with voluntary bars, a law dean, a law professor, and others participated in Dade Legal Aid: Put Something Back’s annual pro bono project, “Speeding Lawfully.”
The Oct. 25 socially distanced spin bike challenge used a computer app to allow participants to compete when and where it was convenient for them. The proceeds support Dade Legal Aid’s pro bono programs that help provide lawyers for family law, domestic violence, probate, guardian ad litem, child advocacy, bankruptcy, housing, and consumer law clients.
Several bar associations were among the sponsors including Dade County Bar; South Miami Kendall Bar; Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Bar; and the South Asian Bar Association of Florida.
