Voluntary Bars Comment On COVID-19 Impacts
As the coronavirus outbreak continues, confronting the challenges facing the legal community and voluntary bars is paramount. To better understand and be more responsive to Florida’s lawyers, the Voluntary Bar Liaison Committee, led by Chair Vivian Hodz, is hosting virtual town halls with voluntary bar leaders. The first Zoom gathering of 44 voluntary bar presidents took place May 8. Topics included Florida Bar resources; court operations and funding; the effect of technology on the courts and legal profession; restarting the economy and reopening law offices; legislative engagement; and mental health and wellness. The Voluntary Bar Liaison Committee will survey bar leaders to determine what resources are needed most. Based on the survey results, additional Town Halls will be scheduled.
